after last years legohead ep which featured on fabric 085 mix cd, fatdog returns this time to his own label. with this is how i feel we get a bumper selection of sun soaked stylings with dub touches chugging along nicely with the type of shuffling slo-mo rhythms that he is becoming known for. flip leans into funkier old school & electro territories, conjuring up slightly darker moods yet still keeping within the fat dog flavour, ending with a flip from d train - keep on, to great effect.

vor exakt 15 jahren wurde yann tiersen für seinen soundtrack zum spielfilm -die wunderbare welt der amelie- gefeiert. yann tiersen machte deutlich, wie man mit reduzierten musikalischen mitteln eine maximale emotionale wirkung entfaltet. und auch wenn die letzten drei alben -infinity- (2014), -skyline- (2011) und -dust lane- (2010) eine erweiterte musiksprache nutzen, die eine band mit einschloss, so ist yann tiersens tiefe und sein musikalischer mut auch in diesem zusammenhang zu spüren. -eusa- kehrt nun zum zeitgenössischen minimalismus zurück. ursprünglich wurde -eusa- als notenbuch für klavier veröffentlicht. als yann tiersen die stücke auf einer tournee vorstellte, bekam er lust diese für ein album aufzunehmen. neben der klavier-einspielung, die in den londoner abbey road studios entstand, unternahm tiersen auf ouessant field recordings. sie geben eindrücke von den verschiedenen plätzen auf der insel wieder, fangen das meeresrauschen, den wind, tierlaute und andere klänge ein.

it’s been a while but hey-ho, coincidence is back on vinyl. the tracks we got from aussie based female dj trinity were simply too analog sounding, so slapping it on wax was the logical thing to do. the vinyl release adds remixes by two of our alltime heroes - steve stoll and daniela la luz. basically: the originals are deep and darkish, the steve stoll rework is a rework in one smooth jam so with plenty of energy while daniela’s version does it really smart and housey. so on with the friggin show!

what happened to techno? if you find yourself asking this question, obviously you haven t seen amelie ravalec s landmark film on the subject. from secret parisian parties to berlin s infamous berghain club, paris/berlin: 20 years of underground techno documents the underground movement of techno through the lens of two different cities. after 2 years successfully touring the film worldwide, fondation sonore and les films du garage are commemorating the occasion with a gatefold double lp featuring the film s harder edge techno. back-to-back classics from regis (downwards, sandwell district), ancient methods (ancient methods, fondation sonore), adam x (sonic groove, fondation sonore), archae & grovskopa (surface), makaton (rodz-konez), kareem (zhark) and oyaarss (ad noiseam). this must-have-techno-compilation also features an lp exclusive track from dna, produced by dax j & paris/berlin director amelie ravalec.

for the first album ever being released on ki we invited biodub, a producer/dj from the north of germany, who impressed us with his fusion of dub, techno, electronica and is a musician throughout. bringing in his experience as the drummer of instrumental band noetics and based on a minimalistic foundation, his tracks are playful in a microscopically way. in between deep bass lines and characteristic dub chords, various sounds coming from field recording sessions and sometimes also acoustic instruments, making this piece of music extremely warm and alive. biodub tries to transform visual impressions into his music. he finds most of these impressions in nature but sometimes also in machines or buildings in connection with their environment. the album is equally comfortable on the dance floor as in the living room. but you would rather enjoy his music on an open field in the nature than on your couch. the album will be released as a full 2 x12 inch lp, and cd in folded hardcover with photography, graphic and layout coming from ki s amélie kai and since it leaves so much space for interpretation, there will be a 12 inch-single with remixes of stereociti and koi.
